Orangetheory: 30 Day Review

It’s been approximately a month since I started Orangetheory. I’m here to give you my 30 day review. First, I’d like to thank all of the coaches for their help and their understanding when I can’t go as fast or plank as long as most people. I’m working hard, I can tell you that.

The Work

Each class is different, but they all follow the same basic formula. You start either on the treadmill or rower. If you’re on the treadmill, you usually remain there until the big switch. On the rower, you usually have a series of floor exercises to complete mixed with time on the rower. Based on whether the day is dedicated to endurance, strength or power determines your time on the floor or rower.

After the allotted time, the class switches and rowers go to treads and treads to rowers.

Of course, there is the odd day (like today) where you do more floor work than rowing. There is also the days like Thursday, when the sadistic Carly makes you do 7,000 push-ups. For someone who can’t manage one push-up, that makes for a long, hard workout.

The Results

I’ve lost seven pounds this month. I didn’t do measurements, but I might now for the second month. I will not post them here, sorry to inform.

I burned 5,759 calories this month, earned 359 splat points and took 29,135 steps. Sounds amazing when you look at it like that!

Overall, I feel a lot stronger. I can up the incline on the treadmill and stay in the orange zone (as opposed to the red). I feel better and actually look forward to the workouts–something I’ve never been able to say in the past!

Today, I upped my membership to the unlimited plan, so I can go as many times a week as I’d like. I’m going to try for five times a week. I’m hoping to see even more results this month!

I’ll check back in another month and let you guys know how it’s going!
